  • When adding a credit card to your account, you will see a $4 authorization hold. This is to ensure a valid credit card has been added.

Rest assured, this $4 will never actually be charged, it is just a $4 temporary hold.

In most cases, (depending on different banks) this amount will appear in a pending state but will never be posted. The hold will typically disappear one to three business days after it first appears.

Bidding:

  • To ensure fair bidding, a valid credit card will be required to bid on an item. Your credit card information is required only for the first time you place a bid. By providing your valid credit card information, you authorize Denver Broncos Marketplace to make a temporary authorization to your credit card account to verify the information you provide is valid. This credit verification will occur each time you provide a different credit card in the bidding process.
  • No. Browsing and bidding for merchandise on Denver Broncos Marketplace is free. You are not obligated to purchase anything on Denver Broncos Marketplace after you have registered. You are welcome to drop by any time and look around. If you see something you would like to bid on or buy, you can do so quickly as a registered member. The only time you would be charged would be if your bid wins the item(s) or you successfully check out in the cart.
  • Yes. To ensure fair bidding, a valid MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover credit card will be required to place a bid. Your credit card information is required only for the first time you place a bid on Denver Broncos Marketplace. A $4 authorization will be made on the credit card for validity, but you will never be charged this amount. Additional bids will not require credit card verification; however, be sure that your credit card information is up to date to ensure that your winning bid can be processed without delay. To successfully pay for your items, the billing address for your credit card must match the billing address for your Denver Broncos Marketplace account. If the billing address does NOT match, the transaction may fail at the close of the auction and the order will go unpaid.
  • To increase your bid, you can do so by simply entering another bid amount on the auction. This bid will not change your current bidding amount if you are the winning bidder but will ensure you are still winning up until the next amount.
  • Your maximum bid amount is the highest price you are willing to pay for an item. You should determine beforehand the most you are willing to pay for an item and then enter a single bid at the amount in the Bid field. An early bid supported by a high maximum bid amount can make you a winner!
  • Yes – if your maximum bid amount has been outbid, you can either place another maximum amount or enter each subsequent bid one at a time. Please note that you can only increase a subsequent maximum or incremental bid. To increase your current bid amount, simply return to the listing and enter and submit a new, higher maximum bid amount (this amount is the most you're willing to pay for the item).
  • If the same bidding amount is entered, the bid placed earlier in time takes priority over all bids at the same price. It can be to your advantage to get an initial bid in as early as possible to ensure time priority at your bid price.
    • There are two reasons why a bid may be considered invalid:
      • You have entered an invalid value in the “Bid Amount” field. Make sure that your bid amount contains only numbers and decimal points, i.e. 45.00. Do not enter any dollar signs ($) or commas (,) into the Bid Amount field.
      • Your bid amount is less than the “Next Bid” value. Make sure that your bid is equal to or greater than the current “Next Bid” value shown on the listing page.
    • The Bid History should show your bid as soon as it is entered. If it doesn’t appear, you may be viewing an older version of the page. Try clicking your browser’s “refresh” or “reload” buttons.
    • The listing page updates 10-20 seconds after you make your bid to reflect the new Current Bid.
    • Yes, but your confirmed bid can only be retracted under special circumstances should you choose to submit a formal request by contacting Denver Broncos Marketplace directly.
    • To make a formal request to retract a confirmed bid, you must contact CUSTOMER SERVICE. Please include the item listing number and the reason for the retraction. Bid retraction requests received less than 24 hours before an auction closes will not be processed, regardless of the explanation. All bid retraction requests received without a valid explanation will be denied. Bidders who retract their bids may not place new bids on that item unless you made a typographical error when placing a Bid amount. All bid retraction requests will be accepted or rejected by Denver Broncos Marketplace’s sole discretion.
  • You can monitor all your bidding activity from within My Account > Bid Status.
  • We will send you an email when your bid is no longer winning. However, there can be unpredictable delays in email transmission. We suggest that you regularly visit Denver Broncos Marketplace to check your bid status.
  • In a Reserve Price Auction, Denver Broncos Marketplace has the option of setting a reserve price, which is a price below which the listing will not sell. The reserve price is higher than the opening value. A reserve price allows the auction to start with an opening value below the reserve price to initiate bidder interest and determine the fair market value of an item. If the auction has a reserve price, you will see either a 'Reserve price NOT met' or 'Reserve price met' message on the listing page depending on whether the current bid is below, or at or above, this price.
  • Denver Broncos Marketplace works together with “Maximum Bid” to ensure that bidders will always have a chance to challenge bids placed in the final minutes of an auction. When indicated on a listing page by the “or Later” link if a bid is placed during the last 5 minutes of an Open or Reserve Price auction, the auction will be automatically extended for an additional 5 minutes from the time of the latest bid. You will have to refresh the listing page to get the most updated bid information for each individual listing. The auction will close once all bidding activity has stopped for a period of 5 minutes.
  • A Dutch Auction occurs automatically on Denver Broncos Marketplace has multiple, identical items offered for sale. Denver Broncos Marketplace specifies the minimum price (the Opening Value) and the number of items for sale. Bidders can then bid at or above the minimum price for the quantity of items they wish to purchase. At the close of the auction, all winning bidders purchase the items at the same price, which is the lowest successful bid.
  • This is because a bidder has placed a Proxy Bid, which is an amount higher than the bid increment. This is the maximum value that a bidder is prepared to pay to win this auction. You can place a proxy bid of your own to try to outbid the current proxy bid, or you may choose to continue bidding in the increments indicated until your bid is accepted.
  • If an auction winner is unable to complete the order, it is up to Denver Broncos Marketplace to determine how to proceed with the item listed. It is possible the runner-up bidder or additional losing bidders (consecutively) will be contacted by Denver Broncos Marketplace, offering the item at the price of their highest bid amount.
  • Go to My Account and select Manage Bidding Activity. From there you can view all live auctions (winning or losing) in which a bid has been placed, as well as closed auctions that you have won.
